2 Roslindale residents to receive Shattuck Public Service Award
Prestigious Award to be presented on Thursday, October 10
Public service is an honorable profession and should be celebrated! That celebration will occur on October 10, 2019, when 8 city of Boston employees will be honored for going above and beyond, the extra mile in providing services to Boston. Among the recipients of the prestigious 2019 Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Award, are 2 from Roslindale, Jocelyne Aboujaoude, Registered Nurse, Boston Arts Academy and Jill Ochs Zick, Landscape Architect, Boston Planning & Development Agency.
Jocelyne has served as a nurse for the BPS for the past 22 years. She is known for bringing a clam joy to all she does, no matter how difficult the situation may be. Her "wrap around care" style treats not just medical needs, but the whole student and community. She is committed to nurturing, supporting and motivating students. Jocelyne's caring interaction with the student body has supported many to develop a positive, healthy attitude leading to joyful and productive lives. Congratulations on your selection as a 2019 Shattuck Award recipient.
Jill has served as a conscientious civic servant helping to make Boston a "world class city". For the past 19 years, Jill has been a champion for the inclusion, proper design and detailing as well as maintenance of open space. She is always responsible, thorough and professional in her work. Because of her landscape design expertise, the City of BOston is far more appealing and engaging. While Jill works primarily behind the scenes, her steady hand and resolve in promoting attention to the public realm for all building projects has directly contributed to the presence of welcoming public spaces throughout Boston. Congratulations on your selections as a 2019 Shattuck Award recipient.
