Boston Police Shoot Man In Roslindale After Gun Struggle

Boston Police say a man has been shot by an officer after a gun struggle during a traffic stop near Forest Hills MBTA station.

Police say the man is expected to face criminal charges.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — Boston Police say a shooting occurred after a traffic stop on Washington Street near Ukraine way in Roslindale around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday during a press conference.

Police say the driver showed a gun to an officer during a traffic stop near the Forest Hills and there was a struggle between the two over the gun. During the struggle, police say the officer's gun discharged and the gun in the vehicle was not fired.

The person operating the car was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and police say he is now facing criminal charges.

The officer wasn't injured in the struggle, but police say the officer was taken to the hospital for a stress-related evaluation.
