Apartment Building Fire In Roslindale Causes $150K In Damage

Boston firefighters battle early morning blaze at 3-family on Cummins Highway that was empty at the time of the fire.

ROSLINDALE, MA — Boston fire and rescue teams spent about two hours tackling an apartment building fire in Roslindale Sunday.

Firefighters were sent to 260 Cummins Highway around 3 a.m. for a report of a fire in the basement of the building, according to posts on Twitter. When they arrived, firefighters could see heavy fire and flames shooting up from the back of the building.

Firefighters began overhauling the scene at 5 a.m.

The building was unoccupied and there were no injuries reported. The Boston Fire Department estimated that the damage was in the $150,000 range.

Fire investigators are still at the scene attempting to determine the cause.

According to the Boston Fire Alert Twitter account, firefighters were at the same apartment building, on the same date in 2019, for a report of a structure fire.
