Brenda Cuervo, R.N., Recognized in Boston Globe
Wellesley Resident and Hebrew SeniorLife Employee Recognized in Boston Globe's Salute to Nurses
The May 10 edition of the Boston Globe featured its annual “Salute to Nurses.” Wellesley resident Brenda Cuervo, R.N., was recognized for her exemplary work as a nurse at Harvard Medical School affiliate Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL), a nonprofit organization that’s committed to improving the lives of older adults as a leader in the field of senior care. HSL is based in Roslindale.
The annual “Salute to Nurses” publication recognizes nurses whose dedication and caring have saved lives, soothed fears, and eased the pain of countless patients and their families. The Boston Globe received nearly 500 nominations for its 2020 edition.
Cuervo joined HSL just over one year ago and works at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center (HRC) in Dedham. HRC is HSL’s long-term chronic care hospital with campuses in Roslindale and at NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham. Cuervo was nominated by her colleague Joseph Rodriguez, a Nurse Manager.

In his “Salute to Nurses” nomination, Rodriguez said, “Brenda has proven to be an exceptional nurse during her brief time at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. She embodies everything that a nurse should be—caring, compassionate, and a true professional who approaches everyone with respect. She looks for innovative ways to improve the delivery of patient care and strives to be a mentor to newer nurses and patient care associates. I constantly hear from family members that they can rest assured when Brenda is working with their loved ones because she ensures that the best care is given consistently.”
Hebrew SeniorLife offers many opportunities for nurses to advance their careers through professional development, tuition assistance, and leadership opportunities.
