Help bring an outdoor cafe to JP's Mozart Park
Hyde Jackson Square Main Streets partners with Patronicity, Boston Main Streets Foundation to enliven Teatro en el Parque series

The Boston Main Streets Foundation and Hyde Jackson Square Main Street are working to create a welcoming, vibrant, social Café in Mozart Park prior to their Teatro en el Parque live theater shows in July as well as before each outdoor Movies in Mozart show in August and September.
"We are extremely excited about providing a great Café experience, outdoors in Mozart Park prior to our summer Teatro and movies series," said Gerald Robbins, Executive Director of Hyde Jackson Square Main Street. "Our wish is for attendees to better know their merchants, taste great ethnic food from neighborhood restaurants and enjoy local, live music all while building a stronger and more sustainable local economy along Centre Street in Hyde & Jackson Squares."

"We're proud to invest in programs like Hyde Jackson Square Main Street's Café en el Parque that merge celebratory local arts with local commerce and encourage foot traffic into our districts," said Joel Sklar, Chair of the Boston Main Streets Foundation. "Activating their primary pocket park and connecting the public with merchants in their Café will bring people together from different backgrounds to keep the neighborhood welcoming, vibrant and economically sound," added Sklar.
For the past 5 summers Hyde Jackson Square Main Street has hosted Escena Latina Teatro, a local Spanish-language community theater troupe, in Mozart Park in July. Plays are performed in Spanish over 3 successive days, with a large video screen displaying English subtitles. On July 19th, 20th and 21th Escena Latina Teatro will perform CumbÃa de Corazon by Tony Campion beginning at 7:15 pm with each show preceded by a Café en el Parque offering live music, local merchants, and delicious food from local ethnic restaurants. Prior to each Movies in Mozart film on Saturday, August 18 (Coco) and Saturday, September 8 (Padington2) we'll set up a similar Café focused on families with young kids.
