Roslindale Gas Main Break Still Burning
Work on the gas main, from which a fire has been burning since Sunday night, will continue through Monday, the fire department said.

ROSLINDALE, MA — Work on a gas main fire burning since Sunday night in Roslindale continued through Monday. The Boston Fire Department said around 12:30 p.m. that the fire, spouting out from a 10-inch gas main on Hyde Park Ave., is still going strong in the face of sub-zero wind chill temperatures.
The gas main is not being shut off because it would mean costing heat to thousands in dangerously cold conditions. National Grid spent Monday putting a temporary bypass line so the damaged pipe can be repaired, Boston Fire said.
Four workers suffered first- and second-degree burns Sunday night.
