5 Things: Fireworks and Readers' Choice Nominations

There are still some fireworks displays around the area for the 4th of July.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. It's going to be another hot one today. Then the humidity and possible rain will be coming through for July 4. Highs are expected in the mid-80s again, so stay cool out there. The hourly, daily and weekly forecasts are available on our hompage.

3. Don't forget that trash will be delayed this week starting Wednesday due to the July 4 holiday. Monday and Tuesday will have normal pickup and Wednesday homes will be picked up on Thursday, and the same for the rest of the week.

4. An electronics recycling day is scheduled for Saturday, July 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. All towns are welcome. For more information, email J.wood36@yahoo.com.
