5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 2

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Public kindergarten registration for all incoming students is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4, from 8 to 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. All students must submit a birth certificate, proof of residency and fill out forms on the school department's website and turn them in at either time.

3. Come practice Spanish at the Beginner's Spanish Class at the Shrewsbury Public Library at 6:30 p.m., 609 Main St.
4. Students in fifth to 12th grade can come to the library today from 4 to 5 p.m., at the library to make Valentine's Day cards for residents in town that may need a little extra joy for the holiday. The goal is to make 100. Meet outside the young adult area downstairs.
