3. You may not believe this, but tortilla chips are a very recent addition to the Mexican repertoire, invented not south of the border, but west. A mishap at the El Zarape Tortilla Factory in Los Angeles led the owner Rebecca Webb Carranza and her husband to cut the rejected tortillas into triangles, fry them and she created the snack in 1994 that is now popular in Mexican restaurants around the world, according to Wikipedia. 4. A home at was sold at auction on Feb. 22 by the town to pay off the back taxes. After the owner, Yolanda Carlson died several years ago, the back taxes owed on the property totalled $22,951.74. Shrewsbury resident Mohammed Ilyas, of 16 Sheryl Dr. bought the property for $150,000. There were 40 registered bidders and 86 people total were present at the auction, according to Town Manager Dan Morgado. Paul Zekos of the Zekos Group donated his time to the town to run the auction. "We must pause for a moment to reflect on the sadness that any property would have to be taken and then sold for taxes," Morgado said in a press release. "This is not something we enjoy doing and something we avoid at nearly all cost but collection must be made when all other options are exhausted."

5. SELCO is almost done upgrading the cable system. The upgrade will allow for more capacity on the system which will help the company to add more channels and services in the near future.
