5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 13

Spring registration is still open for kids, adults and seniors at the parks department.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Come to tonight for a parent forum for parents of incoming kindergarteners. The forum is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will include an explanation of the kindergarten screening, characteristics of children ready for kindergarten, expectations for the year, preparing your child for kindergarten and Superintendent of Schools Joseph Sawyer will explain the leadership model for Beal.

2. Spring registration for the Parks & Recreation continues online. For more information about classes for children, adults and seniors, check out the spring brochure.

5. Though it's expected to rain today, highs are expected in the mid 60s. For the rest of the week, sunny weather will top the forecast with highs in the high 50s. Can you believe this weather? I still think there will be one more snowstorm before Easter.
