Police Log: Gunshot Report Leads to Two Arrests

Sunday, Jan. 8:

3:20 a.m.: A suspicious car was reported on Hartford Turnpike.

3:35 a.m.: A medical call was reported on Julio Drive for a woman with difficulty breathing. She was taken to UMass.

4:45 a.m.: A suspicious car was reported on Old Brook Road near South Street.

6:53 a.m.: A caller reported a break-in to his home on Shirley Road. A report was taken.

9:49 a.m.: A caller reported an oil spill fire on Grafton Street. The called the hazardous materials team to clean up the spill.

10:59 a.m.: A medical call was reported on Avalon Way for a woman with swelling of the eye. She was taken to UMass.

11:23 a.m.: A medical call was reported on Boylston Street for a man with severe leg pain. He was taken to UMass.

2:20 p.m.: A caller reported seeing a sick coyote on Memorial Drive. The was notified.

3:49 p.m.: A suspicious blue Jeep Cherokee was reported circling the neighborhood on Adams Road.

3:59 p.m.: responded to Boston Turnpike for a report of gunshots being fired. The following people were arrested:

Carl C. Hemenway, 55, of 8 Daniel Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property over $250, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, disturbing the peace and improperly storing a large capacity firearm.

Bahye Beneatha Tobey, 32, of 5524 Leeds St., Philadelphia, PA, was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license and disturbing the peace. He also had five charges from a warrant.

5:05 p.m.: A domestic dispute was reported on Arbor Drive.

5:08 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Boston Turnpike for a woman having a seizure. She was taken to the hospital.

5:44 p.m.: A medical call was was reported on North Quinsigamond for a woman with chest pain and difficulty breathing. She was taken to UMass.

6:56 p.m.: A medical call was reported on School Street for a woman with nausea. She was taken to UMass.

8:51 p.m.: A caller reported a black dog running in traffic on Boston Turnpike. Police couldn't find the dog.

9:17 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Wesleyan Street for a woman with leg pain and shortness of breath. She was taken to UMass Memorial.

Monday, Jan. 9:

9:02 a.m.: The animal control officer spoke with a resident from Oregon Avenue regarding dogs in their area.

9:30 a.m.: A medical call was reported on North Quinsigamond Avenue for a man with injuries from a fall. He was taken to UMass Memorial.

10:45 a.m.: A medical call was reported on Hartford Turnpike for a woman having complications from a miscarriage. She was taken to UMass.

12:23 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Julio Drive for a man with difficulty breathing. He was taken to St. Vincent's.

1:33 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Sterling Street for a woman who overdosed on prescription medication. She was taken to UMass.

2:18 p.m.: A person in the lobby reported vandalism to her car. A report was taken.

2:45 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Julio Drive for a man with hypertension. He was taken to UMass.

3:29 p.m.: The animal control officer responded to Floral Street near South Street for a report of two loose dogs. The dogs were returned to their owner.

4:41 p.m.: A verbal dispute was reported on Old Farm Circle. Police spoke to all involved.

7:25 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Brookdale Circle for a woman feeling lightheaded. She was taken to UMass.

8:03 p.m.: A caller reported her car was egged 45 minutes before on Yorkshire Terrace. Police responded and found no one around the car, but eggs were still on the road.

9:05 p.m.: Suspicious men were reported on Hartford Turnpike.

9:14 p.m.: A suspicious car was reported on Grafton Street.
