Best of Patch Readers' Choice Winner: MassDojo/GC Results

In Shrewsbury, our readers definitely pumped up about their gyms. .

Based on the total number of votes and comments, the winner is: MassDojo/GC Fitness Results.

Receiving 1,757 votes out of 3,288 votes total in the poll, the dojo, which also offers personal training and classes is open Monday through Friday after 5 p.m. and until 10 p.m. and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are closed on Sundays.

To say that Owner Eric Rossini used social media to get the word out would be an understatement. "We wanted to have fun with this and a lot of our clients and fans were really supportive," he said about the poll this week. "We knew to wait until the end to vote and I had put out some funny messages encouraging our Facebook and Twitter fans to vote."

When hearing of his win, Rossini released the following prepared statement, which he calls his acceptance speech:

"Massdojo/GC Results Fitness is like the death star. We are the most powerful gym in the universe. There is no resisting us. So, unless you have got an X-wing fighter or spare yoda, you might as well give in. GC Results Fitness boot camps make the former USSR's Olympic Development Programs look like after-school daycare. Greg turns the real housewives of Worcester County into lean, burpee, destroying machines," he said in the statement. "Massdojo has internationally respected karate students that make Chuck Norris quiver. Got a ninja problem? Call Massdojo. We have the utmost respect for the other gyms in this poll, and know many of the owners personally. We appreciate our customers going to bat for us. As a consolation prize, we are offering extra-large Massdojo/GC Result Fitness engraved pacifiers."

What can't be denied in Shrewsbury is how supportive clients are about the gyms where they workout as the poll garnered 146 comments as well.
