Blackstone Man Faces Assault on Police Charges

The following cases were heard in court last week.

Monday, Feb. 13:

Joseph A. Bellanti, 32, of 31 Richmond St. Apt. 1L, Blackstone, was summonsed to court Feb. 12 by Shrewsbury police on charges of OUI liquor, marked lanes violation, failure to stop for a police officer, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and assault and battery on a police officer. Judge David Locke continued the case to April 4.

Leah Mathieson, 22, of 68 Upper Elm St., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court Oct. 2 by Shrewsbury police on charges of shoplifting and possession of class B drugs. Judge David Locke found sufficient facts and continued the case to Feb. 12 and fined her $50.

Robert W. Severino, 26, 95 Autobaun Rd., Wakefield, was summonsed to Westborough District Court after Shrewsbury police filled out a report Sept. 27 on charges of receiving stolen property. Judge Robert Calagione scheduled a pre-trial hearing for March 15.

Friday, Feb. 17:

Francis L. Nmah, 28, of 22 Jones St., Worcester, was arrested by Shrewsbury police on a warrant and charged with violating an abuse prevention order for an incident that happened on Feb. 20, 2011. Nmah admitted to sufficient facts. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Nmah to stay away from the victim and ordered him to pay court costs totaling $400.

Oscar Armas, 28, of 2 Linda Ave., Auburn, was arrested by Shrewsbury police on a warrant and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, marked lanes violation, possession of ammunition without FID card, possession of a firearm without FID card and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage for an incident that occurred on Dec. 31. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 22.
