Blackstone Man Faces Police Assault Charges

On Sunday, Feb. 12, arrested Joseph A. Bellanti, 32, of 31 Richmond St., Apt. 1L, Blackstone, was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, one count of resisting arrest, one count of disorderly conduct, one count of a marked lanes violation, one count of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, one count of  OUI, one count of failure to stop for police, and two counts of possession of a Class E substance.

Shrewsbury Police Officer John Pitro arrested Bellanti on Hartford Turnpike (Route 20).

Bellanti was arraigned in Westborough District Court on Monday. He pleaded not guilty and his case was continued until April 4.
