Car Hits 7-Eleven Wall

A woman drove her car into the 7-Eleven on Maple Avenue.

The on Maple Avenue is expected to be closed after an accident on Thursday night.

At about 9 p.m., a woman driving an SUV said the floor mat got caught between the break and gas pedals and caused her to drive into the front window of the store, Fire Chief James Vuona said.

No customers or employees were in that section of the store when the accident occurred.

The health and building inspectors were called to the scene, but no structural damage was identified. The front window and some of the exterior wall was damaged during the accident. The window was boarded up and the store is expected to be closed for a few days due to health issues with the food, the chief said.

"Some of the food was damaged in the accident, so the health department has to sign off on the clean-up," Chief said.
