Chimney Fire Extinguished on Becket Street

At 2:57 p.m., the responded to Wades Auto Enterprises at 6 Becket St. for a chimney fire.

"The fire started in the wood stove and the chimney caught the roof on fire," said Shrewsbury Fire Capt. Seth Colby, who was on scene at the fire. "The owners did a great job of containing the fire before we arrived and it was out quickly."

Two engines responded to the scene and no injuries were reported.
