Floral Street School Assistant Principal Tapped for Top Job
Lisa McCubrey is named the new principal at Floral Street School to replace Todd Curtis.

Superintendent of Schools Joseph Sawyer released the following letter to the school community:
I am very pleased to inform you that Lisa McCubrey has accepted my offer to serve as the principal of , effective July 1. She replaces .
Overall, the feedback I received from students, staff, parents and administrative colleagues was extremely positive and the survey data I received indicated that a significant majority of parents and staff members strongly favored appointing Mrs. McCubrey to the position going forward. This was very influential, given that this feedback was based upon her leadership at Floral Street during the past four years.
Among the many strengths cited in the feedback were Mrs. McCubrey's passion for and commitment to students and the school community; her deep understanding of best educational practices; her exceptional organizational skills and work ethic; her outstanding responsiveness and communication skills; and her ability to set high expectations and then to help students and staff meet them. The combination of these leadership qualities, her extensive knowledge of the strengths and needs of the school, and the clear endorsement from the school community made appointing her the obvious choice.
