Floral Street School Principal to be Assistant Superintendent in Sudbury
Principal Todd Curtis will be the assistant superintendent at the Sudbury Schools.

While introducing Curtis during the Sudbury School Committee’s meeting, Superintendent Anne Wilson said she was impressed with Curtis’s interactions with students and teachers during the classroom observations.
“The people I met were so passionate,” Curtis said of the experience.

"I became interested in the position (in Sudbury) because, like Shrewsbury, Sudbury is an excellent school district that believes in continuous improvement." Curtis said. "I'm excited to work in another district that values that and works toward it."
Curtis is in his sixth year as Floral Street School principal.

"I am really looking forward to taking on the challenges of a district leadership role, taking what I have learned from the wonderful experience of being a principal and continuing to build on it, to meeting and getting to know the people there," he said of the new position.
"I'll miss all the people that I have gotten to know in Shrewsbury," Curtis said. "I have a great deal of respect and affection for so many people here in Shrewsbury—teachers, students, parents, administrators, you name it. This district is full of amazing people, and certainly Floral Street School will always hold a special place in my heart."
Curtis has previously worked as acting principal in Hopkinton and special education teacher in Brookline. He also served as an adjunct professor at Lesley University and as a mental health counselor at Cambridge Health Alliance.
He holds a master of education degree with an emphasis in special education from Boston University and a bachelor of arts degree from Colby College. Curtis is also in the final stage of his doctoral work at Boston College and he will defend his dissertation in March 2012.
Curtis will begin his new position in Sudbury on July 1.
