Former Police Chief McGinley Dies

Former Shrewsbury Police Chief Robert K. McGinley died at age 77 on Thursday, May 30, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

McGinley grew up in Shrewsbury, and graduated from Major Beal High School, later receiving a degree in Criminal Justice from Quinsigamond Junior College. He also served on the U.S. Coast Guard, and was first employed as a firefighter in the town of Shrewsbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday, June 3, from 3-7 p.m. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home. His funeral is Tuesday, June 4, with his funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary's Church.
