Get a Free Tree This Weekend

As part of the Worcester Tree Initiative, Shrewsbury participates with a Shrewsbury Free Tree Giveaway on Sunday, June 2, from 2-4 p.m. at Ireta Road Park.

All those registering for free trees must be in the Asian Longhorn Beetle quarantine area, which includes Shrewsbury. You must fill out a registration sheet and attend training and then you're set to pick out your tree. All of it takes place at the event.

The Worcester Tree Initiative held two tree giveaways in May, giving out more than 100 trees so far. Its goal is to replant 30,000 of the ALB Zone trees by 2014.
