Gun Found After New Year's Chase Leads to Indictment
The 29-year-old was arrested on an outstanding Shrewsbury warrant.

An Auburn resident whom  arrested on a warrant Feb. 15 has been indicted in Worcester Superior Court. The warrant stems from an incident on New Year's Eve.
Oscar Armas, 29, of 2 Linda Ave., Auburn, was arrested Feb. 15 and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, a marked lanes violation, two counts of possession of ammunition without an FID card, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to stop for police.
According to the statement of facts from Westborough District Court, State Police matched Armas' fingerprints to those on a .40-caliber handgun found in a car after a police chase on New Year's Eve. During that pursuit, Armas was seen speeding, twice crossing the double yellow lines, leaving the scene of property damage and failing to stop for police.

Armas has two prior convictions: one was in Worcester Superior Court for Class B substance distribution; the other was in Worcester District Court for assault and battery.
Judge Robert Calagione Wednesday dismissed the charges on the district court level; Armas was indicted in Worcester Superior Court.
