In Court: Man Arrested after Drug Incident at Price Chopper

A Clinton man was arrested after eluding police and driving the wrong way out of the Price Chopper parking lot.

A Clinton man was arrested on June 20 after failing to stop for police on Route 9. He was later arrested near the Northborough border.

James M. O’Loughlin, 30, of 525 Water St., Clinton, was arrested on June 20 by Shrewsbury police and was charged with failure to stop for police, a motor vehicle lights violation, a marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct. Judge Robert Calagione continued the case until July 19.

A followed a van to the parking lot on Tuesday that was suspected of having illegal drugs, according to the police report. O'Loughlin allegedly got into the van and snorted the illegal drugs while sitting in the vehicle. When the police officer approached the van and told the driver to turn off the car, it sped off toward Route 9. The car then drove the wrong way up the entrance ramp to Route 9. O'Loughlin was later stopped by police and arrested.

Anthony R. Jones, 28, of 14539 Lamom, Apt. 2S, Midlothian, IL, was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filed a criminal complaint on March 19 and was charged with four counts of uttering false prescriptions and four counts of forgery of a document from . Jones plead guilty to the prescription drug charges and was ordered to pay $90 in court fees and sentenced to one year in the House of Correction, with three months to serve and ordered to take random drug screenings. The remaining charges were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth and the defendant.
