Suspect Arrested in Shrewsbury Robbery

Monday, Jan. 9:

Sam. M. Masterson, 23, 12 Sadler Ave., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint by Jan. 2 and charged with possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 17.

Bahye B. Tobey, 32, 889 Turnpike Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested Jan. 8 by Shrewsbury police on charges of disturbing the peace and carrying a firearm without a license. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 10.

Jason Borowski, 28, 6 Stearns St. Apt. 2, Worcester, was arrested Jan. 7 by Shrewsbury police and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the case on payment of $300 in court costs.

Carl C. Hemenway, 55, of 8 Daniel Rd., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint by Shrewsbury police Jan. 8 and charged with storing a large capacity firearm improperly, disturbing the peace, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and malicious destruction of property over $250. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 10.

Karen E. Mikrut, 53, of 268 North Quinsigamond Ave., Shrewsbury,
was arrested Jan. 7 by Shrewsbury police and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 13.

Tuesday, Jan. 10:

John J. Keenan, 26, of 335 Chapel St., Holden was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint on Oct. 25, 2011 and was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Judge Paul M. Yee dismissed the case.

Wednesday, Jan. 11:

Michelle L. Lewis, 42, 2420 Providence Rd., Northbridge, was arrested on Jan. 3 by Shrewsbury police for shoplifting by asportation and conspiracy. Judge David Locke fined Lewis $200 for shoplifting.

Friday, Jan. 13:

Prasenjit Hazra, 36, of  900 Madison Place, Apt. 732, Shrewsbury, was arrested Jan. 6 by Shrewsbury police. On a charge of  OUI liquor with an oral reading of .08 percent or higher, Hazra admitted to sufficient facts. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case without finding and ordered Hazra to pay $600 in fees and lose his license for 45 days. Charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for a police officer were dismissed. Hazra was found not responsible for charges of marked lanes violation, speeding in violation of special regulations and failure to signal.

Raymond Hans, 66, of 11 Glenview St., Upton, was summonsed to the court after the Massachusetts State Police filed a complaint on Sept. 27. Hans was charged with six counts of uttering a false prescription and six counts of obtaining a drug by fraud for incidents which occurred at Target and a Stop in Shop in Westborough and at Price Chopper in Shrewsbury on April 2, 9 and 23. The defendant admitted to sufficient facts on one charge of uttering a false prescription. Judge Vito Virzi found sufficient facts and continued the case without finding until Jan. 11, 2013, ordered Hans to pay $90 in fees and submit to random drug screening. On one charge of obtaining a drug by fraud, Hans admitted to sufficient facts. Sufficient facts were found, but the case was continued without finding until Jan. 11, 2013. All other charges were dismissed by request of the commonwealth and defendant.

Elizabeth A. Jacevicius, 22, of 32 Hayward Lane, Millbury, was summonsed to the Westborough District Court after Shrewsbury police filed a complaint on Nov. 9. Jacevicius was charged with armed robbery and a threat to commit a crime (murder) for an incident at People’s United Bank in Shrewsbury on Oct. 31 in which she allegedly handed a teller a threatening note demanding $7500. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 24.
