Local Men Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Judges rule on Shrewsbury cases at Westborough District Court.

Monday, Nov. 7:

Jose Diaz, 34, 31 Forest St., Apt. 2, North Brookfield, was arrested by on Nov. 4 and charged with trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug law, trafficking in cocaine, possession to distribute class A drug and possession to distribute class B drug. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Dec. 1.

Luis J. Navarro-Marin, 28, 31 Clement St., Apt. 3, Worcester, was arrested by Shrewsburgy police on Nov. 4 and charged with trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession to distribute class A drug, and two counts of possession to distribute class B drug. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Dec. 1.

Wanderson Demoura, 28, 12B Melvin Ave., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Nov. 5 by Shrewsbury police and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the charge.

Adam Young, 22, 610 Edgebrook Dr., Boylston, was arrested Sept. 29 by Shrewsbury police and charged with shoplifting by asportation for allegedly removing an item of clothing from Bobs Store without paying for it. Judge Vito Virzi found Young responsible for the charge, decriminalized the charge, and ordered Young to pay $100 in fees.

Carrie A. Mikalvnas, 42, 50 Kinglet Dr., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Sept. 1 by Shrewsbury police and charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, littering and possession of a class B drug. Mikalvnas plead guilty to disorderly conduct, and Judge Robert Calagione sentenced her to 60 days in the House of Correction.

David Shays, 22, 176 West Main St., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Nov. 8 by Shrewsbury police for OUI, unlicensed operation of a MV. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Dec. 7.

Amy E. Knowles, 48 Farm St., Blackstone, was arrested on Aug. 3 by Shrewsbury police for unarmed burglary, drug possession (heroin), defacing property, receiving stolen property. Knowles was accused of breaking into a home at 48 Farm St., Blackstone, with the intent to commit a felony, then fleeing and damaging a decorative wagon in front of the property. Knowles plead guilty to burglary and was ordered to stay away from the victim, and given two years probation by Judge Vito Virzi.

Thursday, Nov. 10:

Frederick C. Carlson, Jr., 57, of 20 Snow Rd., #7, North Grafton, was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint in court on July 28 and was charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, speeding and OUI, fourth offense. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the reckless driving charge, Carlson was found not responsible for the speeding and marked lanes violation. Carlson plead not guilty to the OUI charge and was sentenced to 2 and ½ years in the House of Correction with a credit of 56 days.

Frederick C. Carlson, Jr., 57, of 20 Snow Rd., #7, North Grafton, was arrested on Sept. 14 by Shrewsbury police and charged with OUI, fifth offense. Carlson pleaded not guilty and was sentenced to 2 and ½ years in the House of Correction and Judge Vito Virzi ordered Carlson to lose his driver’s license for life.

Nicholas C. Tabert, 20, of 8D St., Apt. D, Natick was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint on Oct. 15 and was charged with speeding, failure to stop for police and reckless driving of a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of a Class B substance. Tabert admitted to sufficient facts and was found responsible for the speeding charge and was ordered to pay $250 in fees. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the failure to stop and reckless driving charge. Tabert admitted to sufficient facts on the first count of the drug charge and Judge Virzi placed him on probation and ordered him to take random drug tests. The second drug charge was dismissed.
