Man Flees Police, Charged With Mistreating a Police Dog, Obstruction of Justice

Friday, June 14
10:41 a.m.: A person went in to the Shrewsbury Police Department to report an crash that occurred on Route 140 near the entrance to Shrewsbury Public Library.
12:13 p.m.: An officer assisted with traffic while a truck and trailer parked on South Street.

3:15 p.m.: A caller reported that a worker was injured in a crash while working on a vehicle on Memorial Drive.
5:48 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle with three people inside it at the Days Inn. Justin Prescott, 21, of 32 Maple St., Spencer, fled the scene but was caught by officers. Prescott was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, mistreating a police dog and three warrant charges.

9:07 p.m.: A caller reported a hit and run crash that occurred on Roman Drive. Officers stopped the vehicle involved in arrested Derrick Kibirige, 25, of 11 Park Rd., Apt. 2, Webster. He was charged with drunken-driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
9:53 p.m.: A caller reported a car alarm that had been sounding for three hours on Arbor Drive. Police were unable to contact the owner of the vehicle.
