Men Accused of Drug Trafficking Back in Court

Judges rule on Shrewsbury court cases.

Monday Nov. 28:

Matthew J. Cygielnik, 32, of 25 Lexington Road, Shrewsbury, was arrested Oct. 28 by the state police in Shrewsbury and charged with OUI liquor. Judge Vito Virzi found sufficient facts and continued the case without a finding to Nov. 29. He was ordered into a treatment program, lost his license for 210 days and fined $600 and a $65 monthly probation fee. Virzi dismissed charges of driving an uninsured motor vehicle and found him not responsible of marked lanes violation.

Damien C. Hopkins, 28, of 20 Beacon St., Plainville, was summonsed into court Nov. 26 by Shrewsbury police and charged with miscellaneous municipal bylaw violation, failure to stop for police, possession of a class B drug, failure to stop/yield and failure to signal. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Jan. 9.

Jaime E. Kato, 27, of 65 Frank St., Apt. 10, Worcester, was arrested Oct. 27 by Shrewsbury police and charged with shoplifting. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the charge upon payment of $250 in court costs.

Alaysha Burke, 20, of 105 Locust Ave., basement apartment, Worcester, was summonsed into court Oct. 28 by Shrewsbury police on a charge of shoplifting. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the case upon payment of $250 in court costs.

Wednesday, Nov. 30:

Albert A. Amoah, 43, 36 Yorkshire Terr., Apt. 5, Shrewsbury, was arrested on Nov. 30 by Shrewsbury police for having a suspended license, no inspection sticker. Judge Robert Calagione continued the case to Jan. 26, 2012.

Thursday, Dec. 1:

Luis J. Navarro-Marin, 28, of 31 Clement St., Apt. 3, Worcester, was arrested on Nov. 4 by Shrewsbury police and was charged with trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to violate the drug law, possession with the intent to distribute a Class A substance and two counts of possession of a Class B substance. The case was continued until Dec. 22.

Shane K. Gaw, 29, of 45 Prescot St., Clinton, was arrested on June 13 by Shrewsbury police and was charged with OUI, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a marked lanes violation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage. The case was continued to Dec. 15.

Tina Atwood, 22, of 59 Conkling Ave., Worcester, was summonsed into Westborough District Court when Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint and was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the case and ordered Atwood to pay court costs of $100 by Jan. 3.

Jose Diaz, 34, of 31 Forest St., Apt. 2, North Brookfield, was summonsed into Westborough District Court when Shrewsbury police filled out a complaint and was charged with conspiracy to violate a drug law, possession of a Class A substance with the intent to distribute, two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of a Class B substance and two counts of possession of a Class B substance with the intent to distribute. The case was continued until Jan. 11.

Eric Fayman, 35, of 2 Williamsburg Court, Shrewsbury, was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint on Oct. 19 and was charged with receiving stolen property over $250. The case was continued until Jan. 11.

Anthony J. Ferguson, 21, of 7 Rice St., Shrewsbury, was summonsed into court after Shrewsury police filled out a criminal complaint and was charged with possession of a burglarious instrument, larceny from a building and malicious destruction of property over $250.  The case was continued until Jan. 4.

Friday, Dec. 2:

Andrew S. Dow, 41, 9 Elliot Rd. Northborough, was arrested by Shrewsbury police on Dec. 1 and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and marked lanes violation. Dow admitted to sufficient facts on the first charge. Sufficient facts were found in the case. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case without finding and ordered Dow to six months of probation. The defendant was found not responsible on the second charge.

Rebecca E. Walver, 55, of 115 Floral St. in Shrewsbury was summonsed to Westborough District Court after Shrewsbury police filed a complaint on July 21 for an incident which occurred on Feb. 17. Walver was charged with six counts of uttering false prescription. On the first charge, Walver admitted to sufficient facts. Sufficient facts were found. Judge Vito Virzi placed Walver on probation for one year and ordered her to a substance abuse evaluation and treatment. She was ordered to stay drug free, take random drug tests and pay a $50 assessment fee. The five additional charges were dismissed by request of the commonwealth and defendant.

Shadrac Alexander, 25, of 10233 Arbor Dr., Shrewsbury was arrested by Shrewsbury police on Dec. 2 and charged with unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Vito Virzi found Alexander not responsible on the first charge. The second charge was dismissed by request of the commonwealth and defendant. Alexander was found responsible on the third charge and ordered to pay $200 in court costs. Virzi decriminalized the final charge.

John F. Sharp, 35, of 426 South Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury was arrested by Shrewsbury police on Dec. 1 and charged with assault and battery after Shrewsbury police responded to a report of a physical altercation between a man and a woman in the backseat of a motor vehicle in the parking lot of Shaws Supermarket, 50 Boston Turnpike. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Jan. 25.

Mary Ann Belanger, 19, of 6 Cross St., Westborough, was arrested by Shrewsbury police on Dec. 1 and charged with assault and battery after Shrewsbury police responded to a report of a physical altercation between a man and a woman in the backseat of a motor vehicle in the parking lot of Shaws Supermarket, 50 Boston Turnpike. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Jan. 25.
