Police Log: Police Officer Assault, Birds Mistaken for Frogs

Tuesday, May 1:

10:13 a.m.: A caller reported lines are down on Main Street. A report was taken.

10:42 a.m.: John I. Kalfas, 67, of 1 Myriah Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and two counts of speeding.

12:38 p.m.: A caller reported vandalism to their car on Boston Turnpike.Police responded and removed a 3- to 4-inch piece of steel from a tire.

12:55 p.m.: A caller reported a possible break-in in progress on Reservoir Street. Police responded and they advised the homeowner was having furniture moved.

2:38 p.m.: The animal control officer removed dog droppings from Patriot Lane.

3:13 p.m.: A caller reported an ongoing issue with illegal dumping on Empire Street. Police responded, but only found a few beer cans and no suspects.

3:30 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious man inside Webster Five Cents Savings Bank on Grafton Street from earlier in the day. Police responded and attempted to speak to the man.

4:31 p.m.: responded to a loose small, brown and white dog loose on Washington Street. The dog was gone.

5:25 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Prospect Street for a man with a sinkable episode. He was conscious and alert. He was taken to UMass.

5:32 p.m.: A caller reported an erratic driver on I-290.

6:02 p.m.: A caller reported a lost cat on Willard Avenue. The cat has gray, long hair. The animal control officer was notified.

7:38 p.m.: The animal control officer responded to a loose dog on Brooklawn Parkway.

8:29 p.m.: The animal control officer responded to two birds stuck in a storm drain on Tralee Lane. The animal control officer responded and advised they are frogs. The animal control officer call was cancelled.

8:31 p.m.: A caller reported an ongoing issue with a loud car stero parked on Boston Turnpike.

8:38 p.m.: Three suspicious people were walking through a neighborhood on Stoney Hill Road. Police searched, but found no one.

10:18 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious woman just tried to steal his car on Boston Turnpike. She then went to the CVS parking lot and is looking into cars. Police responded and reported no crime was committed. She was found standing next to a running car.

10:47 p.m.: A suspicious woman was knocking on guests' doors on Boston Turnpike. Police responded and transported the woman to the Worcester line.

Wednesday, May 2:

6:47 a.m.: A caller reported cars are running red lights on Route 20.

9:35 a.m.: A medical call was reported on Boston Turnpike for a

10:26 a.m.: A medical call was reported on South Quinsigamond Avenue for a woman with injuries from a fall. She was taken to St. Vincent's.

1:55 a.m.: A medical call was reported on Julio Drive for a woman with difficulty breathing. She was taken to UMass.

1:58 p.m.: A medical call was reported for a customer choking at a business on Boston Turnpike. The person was taken to UMass.

2:40 p.m.: Police responded to Boston Turnpike for a dispute with a customer.

Michella Fouchard, 31, of 18 Castle St., Worcester, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, larceny under $250, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.

3:11 p.m.: A medical call was reported for a female prisoner who was taken to UMass. She was treated and brought back to the police station.

3:27 p.m.: An erratic driver was reported on Boston Turnpike.

6:28 p.m.: A caller reported a verbal dispute between he and his father on Shrewsbury Green Drive. Police responded and reported the disagreement was over alcohol and it was resolved.

6:40 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Newton Street for a woman with injuries from a fall. She was taken to UMass.

6:44 p.m.: A caller reported damage to her glass door on Taha Drive. Police responded and advised it appeared to be damage from a piece of gravel that kicked up from a lawn mower.

10:46 p.m.: A caller reported a trash fire on Boston Turnpike. An employee will have surveillance tapes pulled in the morning.

11:32 p.m.: An erratic driver was reported at Route 9 and Elm Street.

Thursday, May 3:

2:25 a.m.: A caller reported a disturbance on Melvin Avenue from a first floor tenant. Police responded and were not able to locate the noise.
