Police Log: Two Men Arrested for Attempted Murder

Monday, July 2:

9:15 a.m.: responded to Edgemere Boulevard for a raccooon complaint. The animal was terminated.

11:50 a.m.: A person in the lobby reported a dispute. A report was taken.

12:14 p.m.: The animal control officer responded to Maple Avenue to check on a dog that was in the back of a pickup. The dog was fine.

1:34 p.m.: A person in the lobby reported an attempted larceny on Heatherwood Drive. A report was taken.

3:02 p.m.: A caller reported several geese were tangled up in fishing lines at .

3:49 p.m.: A caller reported a break-in on Park Street. A report was taken.

3:49 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Main Street for a man with injuries from a fall. He was taken to UMass.

3:56 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Adams Farm Road for a woman with difficulty breathing. She was taken to UMass.

4:23 p.m.: A medical call was reported on Cottage Avenue for a man with an injured hip from a motorcycle that fell on him. He was taken to UMass.

9:43 p.m.: Joshua J. Merriman, 62, of 4 Stone Meadow Farm Dr., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with a marked lanes violation, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI liquor, second offense.

9:47 p.m.: A suspicious ambulance was reported on Hartford Turnpike.

10:32 p.m.: A caller reported a neighbor being loud on Spring Circle. Police responded and advised a woman was talking on her cell phone.

11:52 p.m.: A caller reported a noise coming from Saybrook Road.

Tuesday, July 3:

12:11 a.m.: A suspicious car was reported on Hartford Turnpike.

12:36 a.m.: Suspicious people were reported on Maple Avenue.

1:53 a.m.: Keshawn R. Clark, 31, of 23 Girard Ave., Springfield, was arrested and charged on a warrant.

3:28 a.m.: A caller reported a man just attempted to break into a home on Farmington Drive. A report was taken.
