Robbery Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

A Shrewsbury man faces charges after a robbery at Honey Farms last week.

Monday, Jan. 23:

Steven W. McLean, 27, of 100 Adams St. #2, Holliston, was summonsed to court on a complaint by State Police in Shrewsbury Sept. 25 and charged with OUI liquor. Judge Vito Virzi found him not guilty.

George E. Buzzell, 40, of 17 Chapin St., Northborough, was arrested Jan. 22 by State Police in Shrewsbury and charged with OUI drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to March 5.

Katie O’Connor, 22, of 76 Reed St., Worcester, was summonsed to court by Northboro police and charged with OUI liquor and marked lanes violation. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to March 7.

Admir Resende, 21, of 589 North Montello St., first floor, Brockton, was summonsed to court Dec. 5 by Shrewsbury police and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and larceny under $250. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed both charges, the first charge after payment of $100 in court costs.

Korene C. Sorensen, 48, of 82 Church St. Apt. 3B, Northborough, was arrested Jan. 21 by Northboro police in Northboro and charged with OUI liquor, fourth offense, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Judge Vito Virzi continued the case to Feb. 24.

Kylie S. Fleming, 19, 15 Huntington Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Dec. 24 by Northborough police for possession of liquor under the age of 21. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the case.

Andrea L. Maestas, 28, 535 South St., Apt. 5-1, Fitchburg, was arrested by Shrewsbury police for shoplifting by concealing merchandise, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. Judge Robert Gardner continued the case to March 7.

Suban G. Krishnamoorthy, 65, 26 Pal Drive, Shrewsbury, was arrested on Jan. 21 by Shrewsbury police for A&B. Judge Robert Gardner continued the case to March 9.

Holly M. Philbrick, 38, 18 Nutting St., Apt. 2, Fitchburg, was arrested on Jan. 23, by Shrewsbury police for shoplifting by concealing merchandise, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. Judge Robert Gardner continued the case to March 7.

Rafael M. Freitas, 21, 48A Shrewsbury Green Dr., Shrewsbury, was arrested on Oct. 25 by Shrewsbury police for A&B for malicious destruction of property. Judge Robert Gardner dismissed the case.

Jacinto Garcia, 33, 9 Freedom Way, Worcester, was summonsed to Westborough District Court on Oct. 6 after Shrewsbury police filled out a complaint, charging Garcia with driving with a suspended license. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the case.

Thursday, Jan. 26:

Brian J. Grierson, 29, of 272 Worcester St., Apt. 12, West Boylston, was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint and charged him with larceny over $250 and four counts of larceny under $250. Grierson pleaded guilty and Judge Robert Gardner placed him on probation until July 24 for all counts and ordered him to pay $818 in restitution to Shrewsbury Optical for the larceny over $250 charge.

Lany Borgerson, 38, of 67 North Quinsigamond Ave., #22, Shrewsbury, was summonsed into court after Shrewsbury police filled out a criminal complaint on Dec. 15 and was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. The uninsured and the suspended registration charges were dismissed. Borgerson admitted to sufficient facts on the unregistered motor vehicle charge and Judge Gardner found Borgerson not responsible.

Friday, Jan. 27:

Chadian A. Sylvester, 24, 47 Lester St., Springfield, was arrested Sept. 1 by Shrewsbury police and charged with larceny of a drug, conspiracy, larceny under $250 from a disabled person 60-years-old or older and miscellaneous municipal ordinance law violation. Judge David Locke dismissed the first three charges by request of the commonwealth and defendant. Sylvester entered a guilty plea on the final charge and was so found.

Kelsey M. Workman, 21, of 584 Chicopee St., Apt. 4R, Chicopee was arrested Sept. 1 by Shrewsbury police and charged with larceny of a drug, larceny under $250 from a person 60-years-old or older, possession of a class C drug, conspiracy and miscellaneous municipal ordinance bylaw violation. Workman admitted to sufficient facts on the drug possession charge and Judge David Locke continued the charge without finding until Jan. 29, 2013. Workman admitted to sufficient facts on the miscellaneous bylaw violation; sufficient facts were found but the charge was continued without finding until April 24. All other charges were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and defendant.

Brian J. LaPrade, 31, of 9002 Avalon Dr., Northborough, was summonsed to Westborough District Court after Shrewsbury police filed a complaint on Dec. 9. LaPrade was charged with four counts of larceny under $250 for theft from Flynn’s Family Plus over the course of four weeks in June and July. Judge David Locke continued the case to March 15.

John H. Marhefka, 26, of 235 Boston Tpke., Apt. 224, Shrewsbury, was arrested on Jan. 26 by Shrewsbury police and charged with unarmed robbery. The police report alleges that Marhefka took cash from , 98 Boston Tpke., after showing the clerk a note and demanding money. He allegedly left the store but was later arrested. Judge David Locke continued the case to Feb. 22.

Paul Rinkus, 63, of 99 Walnut St., Shrewsbury, was arrested Dec. 19 by Shrewsbury police and charged with resisting arrest, assault and battery, and assault and battery on a police officer. On the first charge, Rinkus admitted to sufficient facts. Judge David Locke found sufficient facts but continued the case without finding until Jan. 25, 2013. Rinkus was ordered to a substance abuse and mental health evaluation and assessed a $50 fee. The other two charges were dismissed by request of the commonwealth and defendant.

Abdullah Hamid, 24, of 113 Chester Ave., Brooklyn, New York, was arrested July 24 by Shrewsbury police and charged with possession of a class B drug; possession to distribute a class B drug; possession of a class C drug; conspiracy to violate the drug law; possession to distribute a class C drug, subsequent offense; and trafficking in drugs. On the first charge, Hamid admitted to sufficient facts; Judge David Locke found sufficient facts but continued the case without finding until Jan. 29, 2013, placing Hamid on administrative supervision. All other charges were dismissed by request of the commonwealth and defendant.

Stephen N. Park, 21, of 510 Main St., Apt. 430, New York, New York, was arrested July 24 by Shrewsbury police and charged with possession of a class B drug, possession to distribute a class B drug, possession of a class B drug; and conspiracy to violate drug law. On the first charge, Park admitted to sufficient facts. Judge David Locke found sufficient facts but continued the case without finding until Jan. 29, 2013. All other charges were dismissed by request of the commonwealth and defendant.
