UPDATED: One Woman Dies, Family Displaced after Fire
State Police and state fire marshal are on the scene of a South Quinsigamond Avenue house fire.
Chief James Vuona confirmed a woman was found dead in a fire at a duplex at 357 S. Quinsigamond Ave. earlier tonight.
and firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at 8:05 p.m.
"The fire started in the bedroom area of the house and spread," Chief Vuona said. "We have no cause of the fire at this time, but the state police and the state fire marshal's office is investigating."

The chief said the woman was found in a bathroom in the duplex and oxygen tanks were found at the home. A family who lives on the other side of the duplex was displaced and the American Red Cross was helping locate temporary housing for the night.
The Worcester County District Attorney's Office is also investigating the fire and the woman was not identified at this time.
