Shrewsbury is Thankful for 5 Things [Poll]
Add what you are thankful for this holiday season.

This holiday season, Shrewsbury Patch would like to take a moment and be thankful for the town. There are so many blessings in our lives and we'd like you to add what you are thankful for this holiday season.
Five things the town is thankful for include:
1. Like only a handful of towns in the country, Shrewsbury has its own electric company, . During a tornado, a hurricane and an unexpected nor'easter, lovingly called "Snowtober," SELCO officials kept the majority of town with power. Other surrounding and New England communities were without power for up to a week. Not only did they restore power, but they also tweeted throughout the storm keeping everyone informed out outages and where crews were going. Other power companies barely answered their customer service lines. Thank you SELCO.

Thank you to the businesses that always give back.
3. Shrewsbury residents should be thankful for the in town. The third and fourth graders at ranked first in the state for MCAS scores in math and English and students continue to perform well throughout the district. So many teachers and school officials work so hard to give our children the best education and many parents are so involved in the schools by volunteering, working or generally making sure their kids do their homework. Thank you to all who make our schools great.

Many worked hard to make their opinions heard during the election and now it's time to be thankful to those who voted, those who worked tirelessly to get their voice heard and those who work hard every day to bring us the free services throughout the library.
5. With the winter season knocking on our door (and one storm already under our belt), Shrewsbury residents should be thankful for all the town officials who work hard to clear the roads (), help out in an emergency ( and ) and all the town officials who help out during a storm. We have a long winter ahead, so it's a great time to thank those who are doing so much for our town.
