Shrewsbury Man Arrested for Robbery

A man passed a note demanding money at Honey Farms yesterday.

At about 1:46 p.m. on Thursday, responded to after receiving a call that a man entered the store and passed a note demanding money from the clerk.

The robber then fled the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, Shrewsbury Police Sgt. Alfred Pratt said in a press release.

The investigation led police to the Worcester City Motel located on Route 9 in Shrewsbury approximately a half mile from the scene of the robbery.

Shrewsbury Police Officer Kevin Warwick and Officer Vincent Scanlon then found the suspect in one of the rooms at the motel.

John H. Marhefka, 26, of 235 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery. He was arraigned in Westborough District Court today.
