Shrewsbury Man Faces Child Pornography Charges
The state police got a cyber tip from a national organization.

A 21-year-old Shrewsbury man is facing possession and distributing child pornography charges in Westborough District Court.
Joseph A. Carvalho, 21, of 8 Parker Rd., Shrewsbury, was summonsed into into court after the state police filled out a criminal complaint on Nov. 17. Carvalho was charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of material of a child in a sexual act.
Carvalho lives around the block from , the town's public preschool.

On Sept. 15, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit was forwarded multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The police reports said the tips led police to an AOL user from 8 Parker Road.
"Carvalho provided a full confession to his involvement in downloading, cataloging and disseminating images and video of child pornography," according to the police report.

A personal laptop was taken by police as evidence, according to the police.
Judge Vito Virzi continued the case until Dec. 22 for a pretrial conference.
