Shrewsbury Man Gets Probation for OUI

Judges rule on Shrewsbury cases.

Monday, Dec. 5:

John C. George Jr., 51, of 216 S. Quinsigamond St., Shrewsbury, was
summonsed into court Sept. 27 by Westborough police on a charge of
shoplifting. Judge Vito Virzi found him guilty, fined him $200 and
ordered him to pay $116.91 in restitution.

Admir Resende, 21, of 589 North Montello St., first floor, Brockton,
was summonsed into court Dec. 5 by on charges of
unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and larceny under $250. Judge
Vito Virzi continued the case to Jan. 23.

Wednesday, Dec. 7:

Harry Nelson, 44, 108 Canterbury St., Worcester, was arrested on a warrant by Shrewsbury police for A&B with a dangerous weapon. Judge David Locke dismissed the case without prejudice.

Friday, Dec. 9:

Sanjit Basu, 40, of 141 Memorial Dr., in Shrewsbury was arrested by Shrewsbury police of Oct. 5 and charged with operating under the influence of liquor with an oral reading of at least .08 percent, second offense; reckless operation of a motor vehicle; passing violation; and assault with a dangerous weapon. On the first charge, Basu entered a guilty plea. Judge Vito Virzi found him guilty, assessed him $350 in court fees, placed him on probation to Dec. 9, 2014, ordered him to a treatment program and ordered a two year loss of license. The second charge was dismissed by request of the commmonwealth and defendant. He was found not responsible on the third charge. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the final charge by request of the commonwealth and defendant and ordered Basu to attend an anger management program.
