Shrewsbury PD Arrest Man Involved In Hit-And-Run

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury police found and arrested a man they believe was responsible for a hit-and-run that injured an 80-year-old woman.

The woman was hit on South Quinsigamond Avenue on Thursday and taken to UMass Hospital with serious injuries. Police said the driver left the scene after the woman was hit.

After an investigation, police tracked down the Toyota Camry 40 minutes later and arrested the 35-year-old driver. The man was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury, Operating Under the Influence of Drugs and a Marked Lane Violation. The incident remains under investigation by the Shrewsbury Police Department and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
