Shrewsbury Residents Temporarily Displaced After Wall Fire
Shrewsbury fire officials said the fire started in the walls of the fireplace.
SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury fire crews handled a house fire on Friday that temporarily displaced two people from their home. Fire officials said the fire started in the walls above the fireplace in a home on Ireta Road.
No one was injured in the fire — Shrewsbury crews, with the help of Northborough and Westborough fire crews were able to control the fire to the area above the chimney. The pair who lives in the home were displaced due to damage.
Fire officials said a crack in the chimney allowed heat and fire to get into the wall and attic of the home.
