Six Cub Scouts Travel to Beacon Hill
The boys visited with State Rep. Matt Beaton, R-Shrewsbury, and had to plan their trip all on their own.

The following information was submitted by Maureen Pellizzari:
Six Cub Scouts from Shrewsbury’s Pack 62 traveled to Beacon Hill to tour the State House and meet their State Representative. State Representative Matthew Beaton (back row, right), representing the 11th Worcester District (Shrewsbury and Westborough) took time out of his busy day to speak to the boys about citizenship and his work in the legislature. The boys listened attentively and asked some great questions, but seemed most interested in learning about the “Sacred Cod of Massachusetts” that hangs in back of the House of Representatives chamber.
The boys travelled to and from the State House on the MBTA. They planned their trip using Google Maps and a MBTA train schedule. In the process, they earned their Traveler Pin.
