St. John Camp's Pool Death Ruled Accidental
The state medical examiner's office ruled the death of a Shrewsbury boy last summer accidental.

On July 14, Aaditya Basrur was a camper at , the summer camp of the private high school in Shrewsbury when he was found among about 40 children during a free swim not responsive.
He was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and died a few days later.

Timothy Connolly, spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., said today that the medical examiner listed the cause of death as “anoxic brain injury due to near drowning, according to the Telegram.com. Such an injury is the result of the brain being deprived of oxygen. The manner of death was listed as accidental, according to the Telegram.com.
He said investigators found no criminal liability on the part of the school or camp operators.

An inspection by the local Health Department detected no hazards at the camp pool. The inspection also determined that there were more than the recommended number of counselors and lifeguards on duty when the accident occurred.
