"The Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen strongly denounces the shocking and horrific actions of those Minneapolis police officers that resulted in the tragic death of George Floyd. Their actions reflect poorly on the hundreds of thousands of honorable and professional police officers. No person from the black community or any community should have to live in fear of being treated in such a despicable way.

We respect those who choose to protest in peace, but also denounce the violence and looting that destroys rather than strengthens communities.

We stand hand and hand with the black community and are committed to doing everything we can to end racism, bias, oppression and acts of violence. We reject all acts of racism, both subtle and overt.
