UMass' Stem Cell Bank to Close
The center is located on Maple Avenue and is expected to close at the end of the year.

After opening in 2008, the UMass stem cell bank in will close by the end fo the year, according to the Worcester Business Journal.
The bank received $7.7 million in state funding will still continue to fund the stem cell registry by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center.
Nine employees of the center will be let go, according to the article and the equipment will be returned to UMass and will be used at their newest facility expected to open by the end of the year.
