VIDEO: Bushey Tree Farm
Since 1986, the Bushey Family has been bringing holiday cheer to families in Shrewsbury.
This past weekend, the Bushey Family sold Christmas trees at their family tree farm on High Street.
"We don't do any advertising because we have a limited inventory," said Alan Bushey, who owns the tree farm with his family. "We are only open Thanksgiving this weekend this year because we want to have trees for future years."
Families come from in town and around the area to buy their holiday trees. "We have families come to Shrewsbury who used to live here just to get their tree," Bushey said. "We planted in 1978 and have been selling trees since 1986 and it's been a great family business."

Trees sold for $60 for any size tree. The 6-acre tree farm is located on 24-acres of land on High Street.
"My dad bought the property from my grandparents and thanks to an agricultural incentive from the state, he started the tree farm," Bushey said. "They recommended planting Scotch Pine Christmas trees, but my dad found out that Scotch Pines make the worst Christmas trees. Instead of giving up, he stuck with it and we've been planting trees and selling them every year."
