VIDEO: Fire Chief Says Woman Dies in Fire, Cause Unknown
The fire also displaced a couple that lived on the other side of the duplex on South Quinsigamond Avenue.
The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to the two-alarm fire at 357 South Quinsigamond Ave. last night and found the duplex fully engulfed in flames, Fire Chief James Vuona said.
A woman was found dead in the bathroom of the home and the chief said damage to the left side of the home indicated the fire started in bedroom and spread quickly.
"The call came in at 8:05 p.m., and it took about 15 minutes to knock down the fire," Chief Vuona said. "The family of the woman has not been notified so her name will not be released at this time."
