Yellow Gas Reported at TangenX
The fire department responded and assisted with the investigation.

At about 9:08 a.m., the responded to TangenX Technology Corporation at 910 Boston Tpke. for a report of a plume of yellow gas.
The plant manager evacuated all personnel after a reaction between a small amount of sulfuric acid and nitric acid produced the cloud, according to Shrewsbury Firefighter Aaron Roy.
The fire department dispatched Tower 1, Engine 2 & 3 and Car 30 (the command vehicle) to the scene and found all personnel outside the building a safe distance uphill and upwind from the release point, Roy said.

"All employees were medically screened for symptoms of exposure. No one was reporting any symptoms or illness," he said. "Due to the nature of the gaseous state of the chemical it was not safe to make entry to assess the situation, we then contacted the state Hazardous Material Response Team and requested a Tier 1 response."
The Department of Environmental protection was also notified. The Hazardous Material Response Team arrived they donned level B chemical protection suits and made entry to check conditions and assess damages, Roy said. They reported the reaction had concluded and no hazardous condition remained.

Shrewsbury Engine 3 performed decontamination measures on the team members. Engine 3 Firefighters then placed a positive pressure fan into operation to flush any residual gas out of the building. At this point the situation was considered mitigated and all units cleared the scene at 11:51 a.m.
