4. So um, gas prices. They’re bad. The Better Business Bureau sent out an alert last week to consumers who are lured (with good reason) to stations with the lowest price. Turns out in many cases those low prices are only offered to customers paying with cash. Is that legal? In Massachusetts it is, according to the BBB. However, “cash” should be spelled out in the signage and both cash and credit prices should be clearly labeled at the pump. If they’re not, go ahead and alert the BBB or Attorney General’s office -- or haggle with the station owner and snag the deal you thought you were getting. If you want to find the best gas prices in the area or do a price comparison, check out gasbuddy.com for relatively real-time data. Looks like right now the best deal is at Gulf on the corner of Tremont and Northampton streets: $4.05 per regular gallon.
5. Getting tongue tied over news of Osama bin Laden's death under the Obama administration? You're not alone - here's a collection of embarassing gaffes by some of the nation's most respected news outlets...as well as everyday members of cyberspace.
