Boston Set to Kick-Off 34th Annual Harborfest
The opening ceremony will take place in historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace.

The City of Boston will kick-off its 34th annual Harborfest celebration on Wednesday at Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
“Each year, Harborfest brings thousands of residents and visitors to downtown Boston to celebrate the birth of our nation, right where it happened,” said Mayor Walsh. “I would like to thank all of our partners for another great year of fantastic events.”
Harborfest is a five-day festival with over 200 activities. Thousands are expected to take part in the celebration of America’s Independence Day while honoring the city’s colonial roots.

The mayor would like to invite Residents, visitors and businesses to participate in the patriotic opening ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 p.m.
The ceremony will feature the United States Navy Band Northeast’s “Rhode Island Sound” vocalist Musician Second Class Laura Carey, who will lead the crowd in singing the National Anthem, and a ceremonial cutting of the Harborfest cake.

The celebration will run from July 1 through July 5. Harborfest is considered to be the largest Independence Day celebration in the nation.
