Convicted Sex Offender Held Without Bail in South End Sexual Assault
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning on Clarendon Street.

BOSTON, MA — A convicted sex offender accused of breaking into a South End apartment, tying up its residents and sexually assaulting them both was held without bail Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's office said Ronald Brown, 52, was arraigned on one count each of aggravated rape as a subsequent offender, kidnapping, and burglary. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues, according to the DA's office press release.
According to prosecutors, "an assailant gained access to a Clarendon Street apartment at approximately 3:45 a.m. (Tuesday). He bound, threatened, and assaulted both of them. The man left with the victims’ cell phones and other electronics and belongings after forcing the victims to provide passcodes for each device."

According to Boston Police, detectives identified Brown based on the victims' description of the attacker, a medication bottle found at the scene with Brown's name on it and items in his possession upon arrest. He is a Level 3 sex offender based a 1985 conviction in Suffolk Superior Court for aggravated rape, the DA's office said.
Brown was held without bail, pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing, scheduled for Friday.
