Firefighters Battle Blaze on Roof of South End Building
The fire broke out at a five-story building on Tremont Street Friday afternoon.

Firefighters battled a blaze at a building in Boston’s South End neighborhood after the roof caught fire Friday afternoon.
According to the Boston Fire Department, crews responded to 518 Tremont Street just before 1 p.m. The solar panels on the roof of the five-story building sparked the blaze.

Smoke was billowing from the mixed-use structure when firefighters arrived at the scene. The blaze has since been extinguished.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
