Five Things: Food Day in the South End
Several eateries are offering special menu items today focused on local produce.
Today is Monday, October 24. Here are five things you need to know:
1. Mostly sunny skies this morning with a cloudier afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s.
2. Several South End restaurants are offering special menu items today as part of the 1st Annual Food Day. Hamersley’s Bistro, Myers + Chang, Teranga, and Coda will be offering special menu items celebrating local produce. Coda's menu includes tasty offerings like apple bacon salad with blue cheese and herb-roasted chicken with cranberry-cornbread stuffing.

3. Groupons are on sale now for Columbus Cafe ( in November). Choose from several options starting at $25 for a multi-course dinner for two. Click here to purchase. (Thanks to @marczawel for the heads up.)
4. Pick up advance tickets today to Friday's performance by legendary Jazz bass player Eddie Gómez. Gómez will be performing for one night only at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts as part of a collaboration with the Berklee College of Music. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
