Five Things: Haircuts For Charity
South End's Escape Salon among those participating in Sunday's cut-a-thon.

1. Partly sunny skies today with highs in the lower 60s and winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
2. Need a haircut? On Sunday, more than 50 salons, many of them on Newbury Street, will participate in a cut-a-thon to benefit Children's Hospital Boston. They'll chop your locks for a $40 minimum donation, with all proceeds going to the hospital. The event runs from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. but check with your salon to firm up a time or make an appointment. 3. Whether you're trying to lose weight for a particular occasion (a la Kate Middleton), have tried everything and nothing seems to work, or you have your own unique reason, Patch has teamed up with for a new advertising promotion where we'll give away a free fitness program to someone who can embrace the four-week challenge. 4. South End Realty is celerating its grand re-opening at 467 Columbus Ave. tonight with an open house from 5-8 pm. All neighbors are welcome to stop by to meet, have a bite and enjoy the art of Sean Flood.
5. Former City Council Chuck Turner hasn't let prison silence him. The Boston Globe reports that Turner has been posting messages to his website called "Reflections From Behind The Wall." Many of the notes include instructions to District 7 Councilor Tito Jackson.
