Five Things: IBA Receives Community Grant Award

Inquilinos Boricuas en Accion recognized for work with at-risk youth and senior citizens.

2. South End non-profit Inquilinos Boricuas en Accion (IBA) was awarded a Community Grant Award from the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. The awards are granted to Boston-based programs that target at-risk youth and senior citizens. Former IBA Program Director Julio Cesar Roman accepted the award alongside City Councilor At-Large Felix G. Arroyo, James Rooney and City Councilor Maureen Feeney at an event last week. 

3. You can help the folks of western Massachusetts recover from Wednesday's tornado by making donations to the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay: online at Red Cross.org, by phone at 1-800-RED-CROSS, and by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to give a $10 donation.

4. It's First Friday at SoWa! Head down to 450 Harrison Avenue from 5 - 9 p.m. as artists open their studios to the public. Free parking is available.
